Easy Peasy Gratin Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 675g Potatoes (scrubbed and peeled)
  • 2 Tomatoes Sliced
  • 125g Grated Cheddar Cheese
  • Salt and Freshly Ground Pepper
  • 300ml Cream

Preparation

Preheat oven to 200°C.
Lightly grease an ovenproof dish.
Very thinly slice the potatoes then cover the base of the dish with a layer of slices.
Make alternate layers of potato, tomato and cheese seasoning with salt and pepper. Reserve approximately 25 g (1 oz) of cheese for the top. Finish with a layer of potatoes.
Pour over the cream and top with the reserved cheese.
Cook for 1-1½ hours or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown – if the top is brown before the potatoes are cooked cover with foil and continue cooking.

Tip

Serve with a nice salad to make this one of your favourite healthy meals. This is also one of those potato recipes that is great when paired with a tasty chicken dish.

    Would be good to know the oven temperature to cook at.

      Hi Sally,
      You need to preheat the oven to 200°C, and then pop in your dish once prepared!
